The temperature rose up to 47 degrees Celsius in the daylight of July 20, 2012. But this scorching heat was way behind compared to the fiery and fervent faith of PMCC 4th Watch Dubai brethren as they celebrated on that day their 5th Church Anniversary at Al Ghurair University auditorium. The university hall was packed with brethren and visitors coming from the different emirates of the country. With the theme “Established in Faith, Abounding in Thanksgiving” (Colossians 2:7), this milestone celebration was graced by beloved Evangelist Leticia Ferriol.
The program started with a video presentation showing how God, through the Goodman of the House, established, strengthened and advanced His ministries in the Locale Church of Dubai. After which, a grand salvo of colorful traditional dances of the countries in the Gilead Area were performed by selected Dubai brethren. Inspired by the song “All Over the World”, each dance performance depicts the goodness and mercy of God, that though the preaching of the gospel is restricted in the gulf region, the establishment of His churches continues. Shebaniah Praise and Worship team led everyone in exalting the Name of Lord through spirit-filled gospel songs.
Ministers and workers of UAE locale churches also graced the event along with the new ministers in Gilead Area. Pastor Elleza Palanca, the Dubai locale head pastor, delivered the warm message of greetings to welcome all the brethren and visitors of the event. Special numbers rendered by Dubai SOS singers and Dubai Praise Chorale heightened each heart in glorifying God. Pastor Aldrin Palanca, the Middle East Area Coordinator, delivered the message of blessings as everyone prepared their offerings to the Lord.
Highlighting the event, Evangelist Leticia S. Feriol once again captured the hearts and minds of the audience through a multi-lingual message of God. The Evangelist focused on the power and importance of faith in one’s life – salvation. She also emphasized that being established in faith is very essential because everyone is living in the End-Time, and one must not be swayed or destructed in serving the Lord. As a biblical advice, she encouraged everyone to take hold on the teachings of the Lord to become more and more steadfast in faith (2 Thessalonians 2:15).
During the altar call, hundreds of visitors received the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and decided to make covenant with Christ through water baptism. As the Worship Service was about to end, the brethren offered with compassion and gratitude their thanksgiving offerings and pledges unto God.
After a meaningful Worship Service, the anniversary celebration continued through a mass baptism. This mass baptism is another first for Dubai locale and is indeed a wisdom and revelation from God on how His salvation could reach out to a greater number of people. This activity is also a fruit of a month-long prayer and fasting of the brethren and a result of an intensified and well-supported Personal Evangelism Program.
From Al Ghurair University, the candidates for baptism were specially transported and welcomed to the sanctuary of Dubai locale wherein two large portable swimming pools were set-up for the ceremony. The program started with a video presentation of Pastor Jonathan Ferriol’s brief exhortation about baptism. Pastor Aldrin, along with selected ministers and elders in the church, then successively ushered the baptism of 82 souls, of which 11 are non-Filipinos. This certainly is a marvelous figure considering the weekly baptisms which were done prior to this scheduled mass baptism. Capping the program, some newly baptized brethren voluntarily delivered their testimonies about their new-found life in Christ.
All glory and praises unto God for all His goodness to Dubai locale, for the last five years and for the years to come! (R. Paguio, S. Yap, M. Songco, W. Yap, R. Guina II)
