“Kabataan ang Pag- Asa ng Bayan” – these words of Dr. Jose Rizal has become the bona fide philosophy in life of many Filipino youth. Beyond doubt, those words became factual to every youth inside the church.
The state of being a youth within the church is the phase of life where a person experiences the genuine essence of life. It is the state where hope is kindled and a bright future is foreseen. The youth of the church are said to be the next generation 4th Watchers that will continue the duty of nurturing every ministry and take part in evangelization.
The month of July has been the celebration of the “National Youth Month” of the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) all over the country.
Last July 28, they held the “National Youth Month Closing Ceremony” at the Shoe Capital of the Philippines --- Marikina City.
The first part of the ceremony was packed with heartrending and awe-inspiring testimonies of the youths who took part in the ministry of becoming an Associate in Theology. For the greater induction of the brethren, the AIT Chorale has performed a superb song of praise that gratified the name of the Lord. The message of thanksgiving was delivered by Pastor Rey Yton, Zion Area Coordinator while Bishop Osie Quillao, Jerusalem Area Coordinator, served as the keynote speaker of the event.
Moreover, the second part of the ceremony, hosted by Brother Niccoi Reyes initiated the event with deep delight through the aid of praise and worship that was led by the Marikina Youth Praise and Worship Team. As expected, the entire place was filled with deafening noises as they lifted up their voices in praising and singing hymns unto the Lord. The whole flock of the Associate in Theology, which is composed of the high school and college levels in diverse groups were also recognized in the said event.
Meanwhile, the National Body Dance Worship Competition has turned out to be the highlight of the huge event, wherein the youths in different areas have prepared themselves for the competition. It is very evident as they showed off their costumes and furnished their most excellent performances at the dance floor. Undeniably, because of their remarkable and splendid performances, it just simply proved that the Lord has poured numerous talents to the church. More so, the place has once again filled with the congregation’s clamor of praises unto the Lord because of the performances they have seen.
Pastor Dan Perez, Area Coordinator of Shiloh, was the guest speaker of the event and as he ministered to the brethren the words of God, he dealt with the theme, “Courageously Declaring the Gospel for the Fulfillment of the Apostle’s Vision” taken from 2 Timothy 1:8-9.
The last part of the event is the Awarding Ceremony.
During the awarding ceremony, the Zion Area took its stand in being the over-all winner in Category A; Goshen Area took 2nd place and Peniel Area got the 3rd place respectively. In Category B, the Macedonia Area bagged the 1st place; Patmos Area was the 2nd place and Bethlehem (A) got the 3rd place slot respectively. In Category C, Bethlehem (B) obtained 1st place followed by Cilicia Area and Sinai Area for the 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
In finale, the National Youth Month Closing Ceremony was completely outstanding because of the enormous efforts of the Youth who bestowed their best to take part in the said event. The month of July has developed into a month of success for the youth inside the church. Once again, the Lord has discharged his utmost blessings to the church that enabled the youth to become more faithful and steadfast in the ministry. (B. Sico)
