He lived the perfect life.
Mankind has always sought perfection in every facet of his life on earth. Perfections is man’s universal obsession. But most of the time, our efforts to find one end up in disappointments. Because even when we think we have found our own version of “perfect” one, we are suddenly shocked to discover that our model of perfection isn’t perfect at all.
Jesus is perfect because he did not commit a sin at all – 1 Peter 2:22, Hebrews 4:15
God Is also calling the followers of Jesus to be perfect – Matthew 5:48
Perfection is now possible in Christ’s body and in our ultimate resurrection.
He solved man’s greatest crisis.
Human history has its share of great men and saviors. Many of these great men and women have accomplished much for the interest of the good of many people. But none of them have really addressed man’s greatest crisis, which is sin. Actually, many of them hail Jesus far better than them.
Jesus solved effectively the problem of sin
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the story through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labour is not in the vain in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 15:55-58
Believers must not be enslave in sin anymore
“Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him; Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death had no more dominion over him. For in that he died, unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:8-11,
He built the greatest institution for man to live up to God’s standards.
Many great men in history have built empires, kingdoms and forged successful alliances and corporations as well as have won many decisive battles and conquered formidable foes against them.
Jesus alone built the only institution that would bring all men to be able to live up to God’s high standards. The church is what Christ built – Matthew 16:18.
The Church is the perfect environment to live a holy life and given to holy service, which is important to God most of all.
In the church, the Spirit is given, the Word of God is preserved, the leaders and the gifts are present and the principles of God exercised.
He provided the man’s ultimate escape from death.
All great men are conquered so many foes against them, but none of them have conquered death, which is man’s greatest enemy!
Only Jesus has conquered death by being resurrected again from it.
“For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death were all their lifetime subject to bandage” - Hebrews 2:14-15,
Believers must no longer fear death and its accompanying conditions –
“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed upon, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, I say, and willing rather to b e absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted for him.”
- 2 Corinthians 5:1-9
He gave man the most and the only meaningful way to live.
What is the benefit or gaining the whole world and achieving success, fame and power in this world, when these things fall short for man to possess meaning in this world? Many great men have lived and died without experiencing the true meaning in their lives.
But Jesus is the one who has really demonstrated to us what life is really all about
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. - Ecclesiastes 12:13
Believers then can now live their lives far better and meaningfully than their secular and worldly counterparts.
