The PMCC 4th Watch Western Pacific District- Hawaiian Islands held its victorious spiritual Summer Camp 2018 last June 27 to July 1st on the island of Maui, Hawaii. Brethren from different islands; Oahu, Kauai and Big Island travelled to the mountainous road of Camp Maluhia to attend this year’s most-awaited camp.
Disregarding the travel exhaustion, all were energized with greatness of the Opening Night service featuring special presentations from Maui and Honolulu brethren. Sister Johanan Quillao shared her god-given talent in song of praise, Presbyter Mona Quillao shared the words of blessings and Bishop Osinando Quillao empowered the campers the significance of being partakers in Christ’s suffering and glory.
Each morning devotion, the words of God delivered deepen the prayers of each campers for they understand to intercede for God’s people and for personal requests. Brother Blesswin Airam, Sis Russel Bularon and Brother Marcos Devera shared that through prayers we can stand against all kinds of sufferings and we will be part of God’s glory.
Comprehending on the theme in seminars, “Following Christ in suffering and glory,” words of empowerment were powerfully administered by each speakers. Presbyter Mona Quillao elucidated the topic “Piety: A life with the Greatest Reward and The Qualities of a Strong Faith that leads to suffering and glory,” Presbyter Gallagher Concepcion on “Fellowship in Christ in sufferings and evangelism,” and Bishop Osie Quillao on “Sharing the Sufferings of Christ for the sake of the Church”.
Competitions such as Bible Quiz, Know the Word, Yell of Praise, Preaching and Dance Interpretations took place during the afternoon services. Friendly competitors were prepared from the local church of Maui, Honolulu, Leeward Extension and Kauai Extension.
‘To have fellowship to the Apostle’s mission is to have fellowship with the Father and the Son of God’ was the topic during the Mission Night. Bishop Osie motivated each camper to utilize their gifts and talents as much for the glory of God. He exhorted that each children of God plays a vital role in His vineyard by supporting the mission.
Dedication Night was the night to recognized those who selflessly devoted their lives for God’s calling and accepted the challenge of the ministry. Presentation was given the AITs and MBS students, song rendition by the ministers, Brother Blesswin Airam and Sister Arbie Devera. Adults, youth and seniors once again committed and vowed to take part in Christ’s suffering.
Concluding this year’s Hawaiian Islands camp, the Grand Worship was held in Maui Locale’s chapel to completes the nourishments that each campers needs to receive through His words. Bishop Osinando Quillao decipher the truth about the Sufferings in the Faith that Produces Godly Rejoicing. He inspiringly compelled us to abound in sufferings and we will abound in consolation through Christ.
Spiritual summer camp is essential in the lives of every believer, for it surely moves us deeply to excel in our faith and service to God. (E. Piros)
