God’s outpouring grace comes not into a discontinuation. In almost fifty years, the Marikina Locale Church has grown full and well into its prime status. Dubbed as one of the fastest growing churches in Asia, we owe all this glory to His unbreakable promise; though our beginning was small, yet our end shall greatly increase. Marking Marikina Locale’s 45th Church Anniversary, a grand celebration is only due to express our gratitude to our omnipotent God.
The brethren started their celebration by participating in the motorcade that started from Marikina to the Ynares Center, Antipolo City. Brightly colored balloons decorated the brethren’s cars as well as tarpaulins showcasing this year’s theme, “Bringing the Sheep into the Fold” from John 10:16.
Soon after the parade, the complex was quickly filed with brothers and sisters who were evidently excited to further celebrate this pivotal event. The Marikina Bible Students kicked off the program with an epic festival-themed special number, ending it with a shower of balloons.
Sis. Joy Ferriol Guerrero formally opened the program and introduced Sis. Reshen Vallespin to lead the brethren in praises and worship to the Lord. Music continually plays a vital part in moving the hearts of our brethren to shout and lift the name of our God. It was eventually followed by an opening prayer led by Ptr. Luz Amador, inviting God’s presence and thanking Him for His undeniably great works for the past days, months, and years.
Thereafter, the National Christian Life College (NCLC) Grade School Department joyfully presented a dance number with their bodies as instruments to glorify the name of the Lord.
Presbyter Polly Mendoza then delightfully welcomed the congregation comprising of the different areas of the Marikina Locale, NCLC students together with their parents, and visitors.
Afterwards, the NCLC High School Department and Marikina Symphony of Praise offered earnest performances to the Lord consecutively. Ptr. Joel Tenorio then led the scripture reading subsequently.
Presbyter Polly Mendoza along with his wife, Pastor Cecille Mendoza, were then recognized and awarded for serving as the Head Pastor of Marikina Locale for seven years. Their hard work and exemplary service truly did not go unrecognized in the eyes of our Lord.
Another song of praise was offered to our God by the Highest Praise Chorale. The celebration is without a doubt filled with different kinds of talents that were raised up to our Lord. The message of giving was then administered by Presbyter Charlie Magbata. Just before the message, the MBS Chorale offered their angelic voices unto the Lord to fully prime us to receive His holy words.
Presbyter Leticia Ferriol delivered the Words of God emphasizing on the gifts God has been given to the Church, namely: Gift of Grace, Gift of Righteousness, and Gift of Access.
Truly, this celebration was indeed a great opportunity to remember what God has done for everyone and for the Church. (A. Miguel, M. Manalo)
